Fight (July 17, 1882)

Samuel Sweeney was returning home from the city about half past ten Saturday evening, and when near Eighth and Kerlin streets was attacked by two men and struck with what was supposed to be a blackjack, and left on the street stunned and bleeding. After a while he came to. The men had meanwhile left, and no traces were found. Robbery was evidently no their aim. Mr. Sweeney was able to walk home.
