William B. Sweeny
William B. Sweeny, 93, retired master plumber, died last night at his home, 827 North Jackson Street, after a brief illness.
Mr. Sweeny had been a Wilmington master plumber for 31 years. He was a member of Harrison Street Methodist Church and the Sunday School extension department of the late First Assembly of God Church.
The husband of the late Katie M. Sweeny. he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Florence R. Baldwin and Mrs. Katie May Beecher of Wilmington; Mrs. Margaret F. Whistler, Concord Manor; six sons, John F., Minquadale; Thomas Burton., Robert H., Charles R., Samuel R., all of Wilmington; Harry R., Newark; 26 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the McCrery Funeral Home, 2700 Washington Street, with the Rev. John E. Jones of Harrison Street Church officiating.
Internment will be in the Lawncroft Cemetery, Lynnwood, Pa. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow after 7 p.m.
