Rev. Haute Wyatt to Charlemagne - 43 Generations

I have found a second connection to Charlemagne through the Surname "Maxey" and then Haute Wyatt. The other connection is through "Drummond" and then Robert Drake. Living relatives information has been removed.

It has been noted that Emarillas Maxey is not Holloway Maxey's biological daughter and that she is Cherokee Indian. A man by the name of Adam Grimes took Emarillas in to keep her from registering with the government. This is being researched. Neverthelesss, the information below is accurate as far as the information is concerned.

1. Adam Grimes was appointed guardian to Emaline Emarillas Maxey and went to Tennessee to get the rest of her inheritance from the death of her father, Holloway Maxey. They had been neighbors in "Possum Trot" near Pleasant View, Tennessee before moving up into Williamson County, Illinois. There was many family connections between the Grimes, Simmons and Maxey families. I will attach a copy of the record to this person as time permits. Her name is spelled many different ways on different documents.

2. "I am Emarillas's great-great grandaughter. According to my grandfather, the Holloways were not Emarillas's bioligical family. She was a Cherokee indian, and they took her in to keep her from registering with the government, which led to the trail of tears. He has found a picture of her, and says she is unmistakenly Native American."

3. Sept 18, 1836, Book Z pg 304
Adam Grimes buys from Joseph McCormack Sept 18th 1836 89.25 acres on Spring Creek off Sycamore Creek .Wm J. Perry's NE Corner, joining Sanders *Adam married WmJ Perry's daughter* Wit: Wilson L. Gower, Samuel McCormack, Holloway Maxey.

My conclusion is that Holloway Maxey took Emarillas in therefore she is not his biological daughter. After Holloways early death, Adam Grimes took her in until she married Scott Simmons. This would therefore void the Charlemagne connection.
